In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Ever Merciful

LUMINOUS INTOXICATION

Red Sulphur Under The Red Maple

Light upon light

And shade upon shade

Gathered beneath

The dappled leaves of red maple…

The mureeds take shelter

Beneath the canopy of sainthood…

Am I awake or in a dream?

The edges are blurred…

Everything seems to glow

Around the luminous curves!

Am I still upon the earth…

Or in a space outside of time?

Intoxicated by his attar

Permeating every vine…

Those dead vines…

Which cling to the tree…

Begin to spring back to life

As they drink from the breeze!
